9.1 Electric Vehicles
Observations
Registrations of electric vehicles have generally increased over time with the exception of the hybrid diesel-electric vehicle which has declined slightly in recent months. Positive public perception has increased from 49% of respondents citing at least one benefit in December 2017 to 52% in December 2018.
Indicator 9.1.1 – Registrations
The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders publish monthly data on car registrations for new and not commercial vehicles. The number of registrations are shown for battery electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, hybrid petrol-electric vehicles and hybrid diesel-electric vehicles.
