8.5 Renewable Energy
Observations
Renewables’ share of electricity generation was up from 29.2 per cent in 2017 to 33.0 per cent, a record. This has grown since 2000 when renewable generation was just 2.6 per cent. Electricity generation from renewable sources increased by 11 per cent between 2017 and 2018, to a record 110 TWh.
