Observations

The employment rate has been increasing over time for each age group with 60.4% of those aged 50-64 and 5.27% of those aged 65+ being employed in January to March 2000, compared to 72.74% and 10.76% being employed in October to December 2019 respectively. Almost 30% of those aged over 75 report they are never lonely. Fewer than 20% of respondents aged over 65 report being lonely at least some of the time.

Indicator 7.2.2 - Loneliness

The Community Life Survey is held annually to track trends and developments in areas that encourage social action and empower communities. Data are collected in England for those aged 16+.
